Six alarm fire destroys homes on Ash and Vine streets
NASHUA - More than 30 residents were displaced after a six alarm fire gutted a half dozen apartments at 108-110 Ash St. and 115 Vine St. on the morning of Dec. 2. According to Nashua Fire Rescue, firefighters responded to the scene at 6:28 a.m. and encountered heavy flames at the rear of the Ash Street property. Crews also found fire in the rear of 115 Vine St., prompting a second alarm. A third alarm was struck as command personnel arrived at the scene. As firefighters continued to attack the flames, they encountered “extreme fire conditions” and were ordered to evacuate and assume defensive positions. Three additional alarms were struck and a general alarm was sent out instructing all off duty Nashua firefighters to respond and ultimately extinguish the inferno.
