City man charged with Temple Street assault

NASHUA – Joseph Lewis, 43, of Nashua, was taken into custody on Jan. 23 in connection with an assault at 23 Temple St.

According to the Nashua Police Department, on Jan. 12, officers responded to a man who had sustained substantial but non-life-threatening facial injuries. After interviewing the victim and reviewing video surveillance, officers identified Lewis as their suspect.

He has been charged with second degree assault.

Lewis was held on preventive detention and was scheduled to be arraigned in Nashua District Court on Jan. 26.

Under state law, if convicted, Lewis could face up to seven years in prison, up to five years of probation and a fine of up to $4,000.
