Nashua teen charged in West Hollis Street stabbing

NASHUA – Devin Rice, 19, of Nashua, was taken into custody on Jan. 5 in connection with an alleged stabbing at a home on West Hollis Street.

According to the Nashua Police Department, officers responded to 763 West Hollis St. at 9:40 p.m. The preliminary investigation suggested that an altercation had broken out between Rice’s mother and the male victim. Rice then allegedly responded by grabbing a knife and attacking the man.

The victim had reportedly been stabbed multiple times when police arrived. He was taken to the hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Rice has been charged with six counts of first degree assault-domestic violence with a deadly weapon.

He was held on preventive detention bail and was scheduled to be arraigned in Nashua District Court on Jan. 6.

Under state law, if convicted, he could face up to 90 years in prison, up to 30 years of probation and up to $24,000 in fines.
