Police apprehend second suspect in D.W. Highway thefts

NASHUA – Ricardo Morales, 38, of Nashua, was taken into custody on Dec. 18 for a string of alleged thefts at businesses on Daniel Webster Highway.

He is the second of two suspects to be arrested in connection with the incidents. The other suspect, Chad Hirtle, 28, of East Bridgewater, Mass., was arrested on Dec. 12.

According to the Nashua Police Department, between January and April, officers received numerous reports of thefts from Lowe’s, Guitar Center, Barnes and Noble, Tobacco Barn and Best Buy.

Morales has been charged with theft by unauthorized taking or transfer in excess of $1,000.

He was released on personal recognizance bail and is scheduled to be arraigned in Nashua District Court on Jan. 15, 2026.

Under state law, if convicted, he could face up to seven years in prison, up to five years of probation and a fine of up to $4,000.
