City man facing domestic violence charges

NASHUA – Leon Scott, 39, of Nashua, was taken into custody on March 31 following an alleged domestic disturbance.
According to the Nashua Police Department, officers responded to the scene on March 30. The female victim allegedly told them that Scott strangled her to the point where she was unable to breathe. She also reportedly said that Scott caused property damage as well.
He has been charged with second degree assault (strangulation)-domestic violence, criminal mischief and simple assault; domestic violence.
Scott was held without bail and was scheduled to be arraigned in Nashua District Court on April 1.
Under state law, if convicted, he could face up to nine years in prison, up to five years of probation and up to $8,000 in fines.
