Nashua teen accused of making threat over social media

NASHUA – Matthew Mellen, 18, of Nashua, was taken into custody on Sept. 16 for allegedly sending a threatening Facebook message.
According to the Nashua Police Department, officers responded to a report of a domestic disturbance. After arriving at the scene, the female victim told them that she received a “concerning audio message” from Mellen on Facebook. She also told officers that the message caused her to believe that her life was in danger.
Mellen has been charged with criminal threatening – domestic violence with a deadly weapon.
Based on the nature of the alleged offense, Mellen was not eligible for bail and was scheduled to be arraigned in Nashua District Court on Sept. 17.
