NASHUA – Donald Morrill, 68, of Nashua, was taken into custody on Aug. 1 for allegedly failing to register as a sex offender.

According to the Nashua Police Department, officers were contacted by officials at the York County Sheriff’s Department in Maine. They told Nashua Police that an arrest warrant was issued for Morrill, who was a registered sex offender in Maine, but was not in compliance with the state’s registration requirements.

Further investigation revealed that Morrill was living in Nashua where he had also reportedly failed to register as a sex offender.

Nashua Police have charged him with duty to report. Under state law, if convicted, Morrill could face up to seven years in prison, up to five years of probation and a fine of up to $4,000.

Morrill was held without bail pending his arraignment in Nashua District Court on Aug. 4.
