Merrimack man charged with firearm trafficking

By Christopher Roberson - Staff Writer | Jun 17, 2025

BOSTON – Isaiah Johnson, 24, of Merrimack, was taken into federal custody on June 12 as part of an ongoing investigation on firearm trafficking.

According to the charging documents, on Feb. 3, 2024, Johnson went to a New Hampshire gun store and took pictures of a tan-colored Glock 19X with an extended magazine. He then sent the pictures to a co-conspirator in Brockton, Mass. Federal law enforcement officials indicated that the co-conspirator was not eligible for a gun license.

One week later, Johnson reportedly sent another picture of the gun to the co-conspirator and delivered it to him on Feb. 11, 2024.

Ten months later, the co-conspirator was arrested in connection with a high-end car theft investigation.

While searching the co-conspirator’s residence, police allegedly found the Glock that Johnson had purchased as well as a pair of high-capacity magazines. It was also reported that the gun was found with a selector switch, which made it a fully-automatic weapon.

Johnson has been charged with firearm trafficking by unlawful delivery.

Under federal law, if convicted, Johnson could face up to five years in prison, up to three years of supervised release and a fine of up to $250,000.
