Londonderry man charged with assaulting officer during DUI stop
HOOKSETT – Jassen Franziez, 38, of Londonderry, was taken into custody at 2:57 a.m. on May 24 for allegedly driving under the influence and assaulting a police officer.
According to the Hooksett Police Department, Franziez was acting impaired; however, he refused to take any field sobriety tests.
As he was being put in the police cruiser, Franziez reportedly kicked an officer twice in the head and the chest. The officer was not injured.
Manchester Police were called to assist and Franziez was put into a large transport van.
Franziez has been charged with DUI, resisting arrest, two counts of simple assault, disorderly conduct and a traffic control device violation.
Under state law, if convicted, he could face up to four years in prison, up to $5,500 in fines and having his driver’s license suspended for up to two years.
Franziez was held on $1,000 cash bail and will be arraigned in Hooksett District Court at a later date.
