Nashua man charged with assaulting toddler

NASHUA – Jose Antonio, 33, of Nashua, was taken into custody on May 11 after allegedly hitting his three-year-old son in the face.

According to the Nashua Police Department, on May 10, officers responded to Southern New Hampshire Medical Center at 8 Prospect St. where they found the boy who was being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Antonio has been charged with second degree assault on a victim under the age of 13 – domestic violence.

Under state law, if convicted, Antonio could face up to seven years in prison, up to five years of probation and a fine of up to $4,000.

Antonio was held on preventative detention and was scheduled to be arraigned in Nashua District Court on May 11.
