Nashua man charged in domestic dispute

NASHUA – Vernon Davis, 40, of Nashua, was taken into custody on May 16 in connection with an assault that allegedly occurred three days earlier.

According to the Nashua Police Department, officers took a report from the victim on May 13, who said Davis, with whom she is romantically involved, had physically assaulted and strangled her earlier that day.

Davis has been charged with second degree assault (strangulation), domestic violence and domestic violence simple assault.

Under state law, if convicted, Davis could face up to eight years in prison, up to five years of probation and up to $6,000 in fines.

Davis was held on preventative detention and was scheduled to be arraigned in Nashua District Court on May 19.
