City man charged in domestic disturbance

NASHUA – Francis Romero Ramos, 39, of Nashua, was taken into custody on Feb. 28 in connection with an alleged domestic disturbance.
According to the Nashua Police Department, the female victim, whose identity has not been released, told officers that Romero Ramos had grabbed her by the throat. As a result, she was having trouble breathing.
Police attempted to speak with Romero Ramos; however, at that time, he was reportedly hiding in the basement of the home. A K9 was then used to get him out and place him under arrest.
Romero Ramos has been charged with second degree assault (strangulation) – domestic violence and four counts of domestic violence-simple assault.
Romero Ramos was held on preventative detention and was scheduled to be arraigned at Nashua District Court on Feb. 28.
Under state law, if convicted, he could face up to 11 years in prison, up to five years probation and up to $12,000 in fines.
