Kyle Bedinger Wiffle Ball Tourney set for Saturday
Back from a forced pandemic hiatus, the Kyle Bedinger Memorial Wiffle ball Tournament is set for this Saturday at the Anheuser-Busch fields in Merrimack.
The games are scheduled to commence at 9:30 a.m. The rain date for the tourney is Sunday. This year’s field includes 16 teams.
The fourth tourney, in honor of the late 2007 Nashua North graduate who was involved with the Titans baseball and golf teams. He also served as a youth baseball coach and the diamond at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Park on Ledge St. has been named in his honor.
Bedinger died of a sudden illness May 10, 2016. His family formed the Kyle Bedinger Memorial Trust, which has raised money for youth sports organizations in Nashua.
The Trust installed a modern scoreboard at Murray Field, in front of Holman Stadium on Amherst St. In 2020 it helped two Nashua baseball teams compete in the New Hampshire Covid Baseball League and the New England Independent Baseball League.
The Trust is also helping Team Sinclair in its bid for a spot in the 2022 Olympics women’s curling competition.
