IT’S OUT! Celtics sked released,open at home vs. Sixers
The Boston Celtics and the rest of the NBA schedule was released on Thursday, and they will open their season on Wednesday night, Oct. 22 vs. Philadelphia at TD Garden.
Although they won’t play on Christmas, they will have 25 games on national TV, with a couple of notables: Vs. the Knicks on Tuesday, Dec. 2 (NBC) and the Lakers on Dec. 5 (Prime). Also, top pick Cooper Flagg returns to New England on March 6 with Dallas coming to TD Garden.
The Celtics will play four straight home games twice, from Jan. 5-10 and Jan. 26-FEb. 1. Around the holidays they will be on the road for five straight games, starting with at the Pacers and then four teams out west. They are at the Lakers on Sunday, Feb. 22 (6:30 p.m. EST, NBC). On that day, the Lakers will unveil a statue of their former head coach, Pat Riley.
Boston will have 13 back-to-backs. They’ll play on Thanksgiving Eve at TD Garden vs. Detroit, and will host Toronto on Easter Sunday (April 5, 3:30 p.m.).
Boston will finish the regular season at home on Sunday, April 12 vs. Orlando at 6 p.m. A good chunk of Boston’s weeknight home games are Wednesdays and Fridays.
