HS Roundup: North’s Neveu rules slopes; Titans Unified hoop wins

Thursday is usually a light day for local high school sports, but don’t tell that to Nashua High School North skier Rosie Neveu.
Neveu, who also runs track, had a big day in a multi-team meet at Pat’s Peak. Also yesterday, it was a big day for a certain family who has a trio playing Co-Ed Unified Basketball, also for Nashua North. And for some local gymnasts from Alvirne, Campbell, Nashua North and South.
Here are all the details:
BOYS & GIRLS SKIING
NORTH’S NEVEU TAKES FIRST
Neveu won the girls race with a combined slalom run time of 1:06.90 as the Titans (332) finished fourth. Portsmouth won the meet at 370, followed by Keene (367) and locally, Bishop Guertin (349) in third.
17th (1:25.33) and Regan Trudel 27th (1:38.04).
Also for North, Trina Neveu was 16th (1:24.69), followed by Sam Nardone (31, 1:40.62) and Kathryn Kieley (37, 1:47.82).
Merrimack was ninth led by Addie Sharp (28, 1:39.09) while Sydnee Capen (43) and Jocelyn Theriault (46) also scored.
In the boys race, the highest local was Bishop Guertin’s Finley Bouvier, who was 12th for the 10th place Cards (240)in 1:09.24. Keene won the meet with 378 points; Merrimack was the top local finisher in seventh at 284.
BG’s Connor O’Donnell was 16th in 1:19.44 and James Neal (48, 2:00.71) also contributed.
For Merrimack, Hudson Rousseau was 30th in 1:32.35. Other Tomahawk finishers/scorers were Cooper Lelievre (41), Trevor Shorette (42) and Connor Streeter (45).
North’s Finn Larney was 31st to lead the eighth place (279) Titans in 1:32.71. Max L’Italien was 36th in 1:35.98. Hunter Sullivan (47) and Matt Preston (54) also scored.
Nashua South’s Tommy Crook was 32nd as the Panthers (273) were ninth. Logan Giltz (40, 1:44.45) also skied well. Akhil Brommisetty (49) and Milan Mohan (56) also scored.
CO-ED UNIFIED BASKETBALL
NASHUA NORTH 36, HANOVER 34
It was a big day for the Wilkinson family, as twins Nick and Brooke plus younger brother Max spurred the Titans on in the fourth quarter to secure the win.
Now 2-3, North winds up the regular season next Thursday hosting rival Nashua South in the Battle of the Bridge at 3 p.m.
GYMNASTICS
CAMPBELL SECOND, NORTH FOURTH
Londonderry won the four-team meet at Spectrum Gymnastics with 131.25 points while Campbell was second at 120.6. Timberlane was third (118.3) while Nashua North was fourth (88.1).
Campbell’s Skyla Houle was third in All-Around at 33.55 with Baiy Weidner seventh (29.7). Alvirne’s Leanna Carroll took fifth (31.0).
Houle was second on vault (9.2), fourth on bars (7.6), and fifth on beam (8.45).
Alvirne’s Carroll was fourth on vault (8.75), and fourth on floor (8.7).
Abby Bozek captured beam at 9.2 and led North on vault (8.3) and floor (8.6). Lily Houston was the top Titan on bars (6.1) and had 6.8 on floor.
Nashua Souths Abby Herbert had an 8.35 on vault and 7.4 on beam, plus a 7.2 on floor. She and fellow Panther Brita Rina, like Alvirne’s Carroll and Olivia Baptista, competed as individuals.
