Local golfers compete in 65th City Championship this weekend

NASHUA – Many of the area’s top golfers will be competing this weekend for the 65th annual Nashua City Golf Championship at Sky Meadow and Nashua Country Clubs.
The two-round event begins today at noon at Sky Meadow, and yes, defending champion John Duarte is back to defend his title. Duarte tees off in a group with former champion Jon Dyer (2022) and Paul Torri at 1:12 p.m.
Nashua’s James Pleat, another notable (two-time champion), tees off at 1:21 in a group with two top locals Bryce Zimmerman and Austin Baker.
Eight-time champion Phil Pleat tees off at 12:09 p.m. The last group tees off at 2:51 p.m.
The second and final round will be at Nashua Country Club on Sunday.
There is also a Senior Division, with last year’s Senior champion Eric McCoy teeing off at noon with another former Senior champ, Steve Lane.
