NASHUA – Ben Geiger’s a busy guy.

The Bishop Guertin High School senior had a concert back at Lund Road to be a part of, so he had no time to really deal with the Spaulding Red Raiders at Holman Stadium on Tuesday.

So what to do? Hold Spaulding to no hits, that’s what.

Geiger tossed a no-hitter as the Cardinals won their eighth straight, 15-0, not walking a hitter while striking out four, throwing just 52 pitches, 39 for strikes. He was one miscue away from a perfect game.

“He was very good,” Cards coach Scott Painter said. “He was in command of both sides of the plate and was able to get ahead of just about every hitter in the lineup, which allowed him to control the at-bats.”

The Guertin offense probably kept him a little longer than he may have wanted, though. BG took the lead in the first inning and stayed in a groove.. The Cards were led offensively by Nick Wyner (2 for 4, double, triple, two runs), Gavin Santos (2 for 3, three runs, two RBIs, double, stolen base) and Cam Flanders (2 for 3, a run, two RBIs, stolen base).

After, Geiger jumped into his car and was gone, with music to perform.

But his mound music gave him a pretty good start.
