GREENSBORO, N.C. – Plymouth State University senior Terrell Lewis, a former Nashua South standout now from New Boston, claimed All-America status after finishing third in the finals of the 110-meter Hurdles at the NCAA Division III Men’s Outdoor Track and Field Championships at Irwin Belk Track in Greensboro, N.C. on Saturday.

Lewis, who ran two of the three fastest times of his career over the past two days, matched his own school-record with a mark of 14.20 seconds. He qualified for the finals after winning his preliminary heat yesterday with a time of 14.21.

Running a clean race, he trailed just Taylor Rooney of Gustavus Adolphus College, who set a new DIII Championship meet record to win in 13.72 seconds, and Alex Dimon of Marietta College, who took second in 14.11 seconds. The trio had entered the championships with the three fastest times in the country.

Lewis becomes the program’s fourth All-American, joining Sam Brunnette (2018; 3000-meter Steeplechase), Dave Severance (1978; 10000-meter run) and David Stevens (1977; 800-meter Run).

He was making his second appearance at a National Championship meet, also attaining All-America status in the 60-meter Hurdles at the 2019-20 Indoor Track & Field Championships, though the championships were canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic just 24 hours before his event was scheduled.
