HS Roundup: HB girls top Sabers; Cavs field hockey rolls
Things were back to normal on Friday. The Hollis Brookline High School girls soccer team won.
The Cavs, if you recall, had to settle for a rain slogged scoreless tie on Thursday, snapping a 44-game win streak. But now they are on a 46-game unbeaten streak. Here are the details on a light Friday:
GIRLS SOCCER
HOLLIS BROOKLINE 3, SOUHEGAN 0
The Cavs improve to 7-0-1 after a shutout win over the Sabers (5-2-2). Livi Ward, Rosalie DeSantis (assist) and Marleigh Kreick (assist) each put one in the back of the net.
Maddie Leonard (save) and AJ Thibeault also played well in the win. HB hosts Oyster River and Souhegan visits John Stark on Tuesday.
MILFORD 2, JOHN STARK 2
Kinsley Matsis and Shea Hansen each scored in the Spartans (3-2-3) tie on Friday afternoon. Iris Lemaire and Hansen were able to pick up assists, while Delaney Barber collected 10 saves. Milford visits Plymouth on Tuesday.
FIELD HOCKEY
HOLLIS BROOKLINE 11, LACONIA 0
Caroline Crawford recorded a hat trick in the Cavs (6-2) dominant win. Other scoring for the locals were Brooke Bouchard (two goals), Sophie Wenzel (two goals), Anna McGurk, Molly Wertheimer, Paige Shirley and Lilly Hamilton. HB visits Oyster River on Monday.
