Opening Splash: North boys, South girls open in style

NASUA — The first big splashes have been made.

The Nashua High School North and South boys and girls swim teams opened the season in style Sunday with some wins in a round-robin dual meet with Goffstown and John Stark at the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Nashua.

The North boys went 3-0, beating South 107-71, Goffstown 100-47, while John Stark went scoreless. South got wins over Goffstown (99-57) and Stark, going 2-1.

The South girls (3-0) ruled as well, beating North 101-60, John Stark 105-54, and Goffstown 91-74. North went 1-2, getting its win over Stark 66-59 while falling to Goffstown 73-64.

BOYS HIGHLIGHTS

In the boys meet, North diver Dawson Bolton set a school record with a score of 148.55.

The Nashua North foursome of Jack White, Griffin Reilly, Jayden Ceballos and Alex Paquin won in 1:59.58. Reilly, Ceballos, Tom and Jack White won the 200 free relay in 1:45.53.

Ceballos (25.97 seconds) was first in the 50 free, with Jack White second. Jack White won the 100 back in 1:05.22 while Reilly took the 100 breast in 1:16.26.

North’s 400 free relay team of Luke Frenette, Dawson Bolton,David Preston and Tom White won in 4:31.82.

North’s Tom White was second in the 200 free and 100 breast.

For South, Pratham Mukewar won the 200 IM in 2:39.23,

Ishaan Parmar was third in the 50 free and second in the 100 free. Ayaan Parmar was the only competitor in the 500 free and grabbed the six first place points with a time of 7:20.64

GIRLS HIGHLIGHTS

Nashua South’s Teresa Mathew was first in the 50 free in 27.66, while Katelyn Perry captured the diving with a score of 181.60 and was second in the 100 back

Annika Garimella got six points for being the only swimmer in the 500 free with a time of 8:21.59.

South’s Mara Grigas-Lewis captured the 100 butterfly in 1:15.12 and was second in the 200 free.

South’s 400 free relay foursome of Perry, Pooja Udayakumar, Natasha Mallya and Keegan Dolan won in 4:45.76.

The Panthers’ 200 free relay team of Teresa Mathew, Grigas-Lewis, Perry and Udayakumar was second.

North’s Anya Seo captured the 100 back in 1:12.00 and was second in the 100 free. The Titans’ Laura White took second in the 50 free, while Kaylee Hall was second in diving. Titan Madelynn Grigas-Lewis was second in the 100 breast.
