HS Roundup: Cougars win 10th straight; Merrimack volleyball wins

The Campbell High School football team gets a lot of attention, but how about the Cougar boys soccer team? They are on quite a roll after another win on Frday, and could be a big story come late October/early November.

A few other locals picked up some big wins on Friday, including the Merrimack girls vollebyall team, so let’s take a look:

BOYS SOCCER

CAMPBELL 3, RAYMOND 0

The Cougars (12-1) win their 10th straight match off of a two-goal performance from Luke Delia.

Tucker Matthews (assist), Alex Kirby (assist), Ethan Bellino (assist), Tyson Landry (assist) and Jack Bourque played well on both sides of the field. Campbell hosts Monadnock on Monday.

MILFORD 2, KENNETT 1

Avery Wilson and Ky-Mani Velez-Boggis each found the back of the net in the Spartans (7-6) close win over Kennett. Wilson and Matt Pettingell picked up assists.

Milford visits Oyster River on Wednesday.

BOW 4, HOLLIS BROOKLINE 2

The Cavaliers battled back from a 2-0 deficit on goals by Andrew Eckman and then Parker Cheyne on a penalty kick, but a Falcons PK goal with two minutes to go handed HB its fourth losse.

Now 10-4, HB will visit ConVal on Monday.

FIELD HOCKEY

BOW 2, HOLLIS BROOKLINE 1 (OT)

The Cavs finish the regular season with a record of 10-4. Nyah Jernberg scored a goal and Rae Kline made 14 saves.

GIRLS VOLLEYBALL

MERRIMACK 3, CONCORD 0

The Tomahawks (5-9) sweep Concord 25-16, 25-17, 25-18. Playing well for Merrimack were Sam Lyna (10 assists, two aces), Lily Petrocelli (nine kills, two blocks, three aces), Julia Bradley (five kills, two blocks, five aces), Amelia Walker (five kills, two blocks) and Leah Monroe (six kills).

Merrimack hosts Nashua North on Monday.

SOUHEGAN 3, PELHAM 0

The Sabers (11-3) end their two game skid by wrangling up the Pythons 25-21, 25-17, 25-20. Emma Church (five aces), Reagan Pepin (five kills, 14 assists), Alicia Kennedy (four kills) and Julia Colantuoni (four kills) led the locals. Souhegan hosts Kennett on Monday.
