Sweep! It’s South’s Bridge so far after one-sided lax wins

Nashua High School South is starting to stake its claim to that Bridge.
There’s a long way to go in the competition between the Panthers and their rivals from Nashua North, but South is up 3-0 after a varsity/JV lacrosse sweep on Thursday.
The Panthers took a 7 on 7 boys JV lacrosse game 17-6 and then went on to rout the Titans in the boys and girls varsity games:
BOYS LACROSSE
NASHUA SOUTH 15, NASHUA NORTH 1
The Panthers (8-1) dominated the Titans (0-10) as Nate Campbell (two assists) and Connor Rowsell (two assists) scored five and four goals respectively. Griffin Johnson tallied a hat trick to go along with four assists. Ryan Salemi (two assists) had two goals with Michael Rutstein (assist) and Rhett Medling each scored one goal. Brady Swisher and Ben Kalman each recorded an assist. Ethan Johnson made nine saves and Colin Sewade made one.
North’s Alec Jenkerson scored on an assist from Austin Kaminatis and Devin Lavoie made eight saves.
South hosts Dover today and North hosts Bedford on Saturday.
GIRLS LACROSSE
NASHUA SOUTH 17, NASHUA NORTH 3
The Panthers move to 9-1 after defeating the Titans (2-9) Kaitlyn West (three assists) and Ella Benzekri (five draw controls) led the offense with four goals apiece.
Maren Lowell (assist, two draw controls) recorded a hat trick and Maddy Matylewski (assist) scored two goals. Morgan Uzdanovich (assist), Karina O’Donell (assist), Saige Devins and Maddie Berthiaume netted one goal each while Bella Walsh had an assist.
Panthers Soleil Dubois, Bailey Carroll (two caused turnovers), Kylie Dawe (two draw controls) and Nessa Reeder led the defensive unit.
South jumped out to a 6-0 lead but the Titans, sparked by a Keira Sice free position goal cut the lead to 6-2. But it was all Panthers thereafter as they led 11-2 at halftime and never looked back.
South visits Dover and North visits Bedford today.
Today/tonight is baseball at Holman Stadium, with the JVs starting at 4 p.m. and the varsity at 7.
