It was a big night at Nashua North, as the Titans girls volleyball team was able to play its first match in the school’s refurbished gym, and the home cooking worked as North picked up its first win of the season.

Meanwhile, the Bishop Guertin and Hollis Brookline girls volleyball teams stayed unbeaten, and a couple of local schools were able to get their golf matches in before the rain arrived.

Here’s a look at a fairly light day of events:

GIRLS VOLLEYBALL

NASHUA NORTH 3,

MERRIMACK 0

The Titans enjoyed their first win of the season with a 25-18, 25-15, 25-17 sweep of the Tomahawks, paced by Alyssa Stanton’s eight aces, three kills and three digs.

Also helping out for North were Mina Regnery (five aces), Olivia Mazerolle (four kills, one ace), Kelsey Laliberte (three kills) and Ella Landry (four kills).

The Tomahawks were paced by Lily Petrocelli with five kills and six digs, Eva Page (two blocks), and setter Sam Lyna (eight assists, four digs).

Now 1-3, North hosts Concord on Friday. Merrimack fell to 2-3 and will host Alvirne on Friday.

BISHOP GUERTIN 3,

CONCORD 0

The Cardinals improved to 5-0 with a 26-24, 25-19, 25-11 sweep, led by Caroline Sullivan’s seven kills, nine assists, and 10 digs.

Nat Houth (three aces, 11 digs) and Bella Reichard (10 kills, four digs, three aces) also helped the Cardinal cause.

Guertin is off until Monday when it visits Portsmouth.

HOLLIS BROOKLINE 3,

LONDONDERRY 1

The Cavaliers (4-0) recovered from a 23-25 first set loss to take the next three, 25-21, 25-17, 25-14 in a rematch of last year’s Division I semifinals.

Leading the way was Cheyenne Colbert with seven kills and three aces, while Lydia Daskalos (five blocks, four kills), Meaghan Coutu (nine kills) and Sophia Jordan (30 assists) were also big factors.

HB now has a rematch of last years finals at Bedford vs. the defending champion Bulldogs on Friday.

GOLF

NASHUA SOUTH FOURTH

It was a tough day on the par 36 course at Passaconaway for the Panthers, who at 234 finished behind match winner Keene (191) host Londonderry (204), and Dover (216) before the players had to leave the course due to inclement weather. Lucky, each team managed to have five complete scores to make the match official.

South was led by Stephen Robbie’s 43, followed by a 45 for Kailey Pullen, 46 for Robby Lizzie, 47 for Joey Lizzie, and 53 for Josh Gao.

Dover’s Carys Fennessy was the medalist with a one-under 35.

HOLLIS BROOKLINE THIRD

The Cavaliers (227) beat Pembroke (239) but finished behind match winner Trinity (204) and Goffstown (213).

Trinity’s Samuel Mourice was the medalist, but right behind him was HB’s Cavan Quinn, who tied for second with Trinty’s Peyton St. John (39)

Also scoring for the Cavs were Charlie Hale, Bradley Noble, Reid Mitchell and Martin Bergeron. HB as a team recorded 12 pars and 19 bogies.
