Merrimack resident Joshua Danforth killed in motorcycle-truck crash
(Photo by JEFFREY HASTINGS) Merrimack police prepare to begin their investigation into Saturday's crash that claimed the life of motorcyclist Joshua Danforth of Merrimack.
MERRIMACK — Joshua Danforth, 37, has been identified as the motorcyclist who died Saturday afternoon at the scene of the crash in which his Honda motorcycle collided head-on with a GMC pickup truck on Back River Road.
Police said Danforth was traveling south on Back River Road in the area of Spring Pond Road when the motorcycle crossed over the center line and struck the pickup truck head-on.
The driver of the truck, Kimberly Hanscom, 52, of Merrimack, was treated at the scene for minor injuries, police said.
A section of Back River Road was closed to traffic for several hours to allow members of the Merrimack police Accident Investigation Team to conduct an on-scene investigation.
