Man charged in Lantern Lane axe attack

NASHUA – Tyler Philbrook, 26, was taken into custody on Jan. 15 after allegedly attacking his father with an axe.
According to the Nashua Police Department, on Jan. 9, officers responded to the report of an assault at 10 Lantern Ln. Upon arrival, police reportedly found Philbrook’s 54-year-old father suffering from several injuries to his head, face and arms. He was taken to the hospital with nonlife-threatening injuries.
Detectives then issued a statewide bulletin for Philbrook’s capture. He was later arrested in Keene and charged with misdemeanor offenses on an unrelated matter.
Philbrook has been charged with three counts of first degree assault-domestic violence stemming from the incident in Nashua.
He refused bail and was scheduled to be arraigned in Nashua District Court on Jan. 16.
Under state law, if convicted, Philbrook could face up to 45 years in prison, up to 15 years of probation and a fine of up to $12,000.
