Thanks for the memory, music and money for Webster House children’s home
Michelle O'Malley, left, CEO of Webster House children's home on Webster Street in Manchester, and Betsy Crapps, a Michigan mom who originated a ladies' night out for charity in 2006 that is now a nationwide fundraising activity, extend here their deepest thanks for all who have supported throughout the year the home founded in 1864 to assist boys and girls ages 8-20 who are at risk living with their own families for a variety of reasons. The pair not long ago hosted a ladies-only Mom Prom as a fundraiser for Webster House that on Oct. 18 drew scores of women of all ages to Nashua to dance the night away to DJ music of the '80s and '90s at the Courtyard by Marriott Nashua's Event Center on Southwood Drive. The inspiration that originated with Crapps has morphed into a reality that puts to good use forever stylish prom dresses, cocktail dresses, formals, bridesmaid's gowns, wedding dresses and related accessories to generate funds for a variety of charities. Some uninhibited no-men-allowed dancing, dining and networking is ensured at every Mom Prom event. The initiative has now evolved into a nationwide charitable enterprise.
