New NTS fares to take effect April 6
NASHUA – Beginning April 6, the Nashua Transit System fares will increase for CityBus, ADA Paratransit and Senior Demand Response services.
NTS understands that these increases may pose a financial challenge for riders and has worked to maintain affordable options, including the monthly pass, which allows unlimited rides on NTS fixed-route services at a discounted rate. Additionally, children ages 6-11 will now ride for free to reduce the financial burden on families with young children. All free fare categories, such as the Senior ID Card and U-Pass Programs, will not be affected and all program members will continue to ride for free.
These fare increases are intended to support the sustainability of NTS’ current services and ensure there aren’t impacts to riders based on rapidly rising operational costs and relatively stable funding sources The NTS team would like to thank everyone for voicing their feedback and participating however possible during this process including as part of rider surveys, conversations with NTS staff, public informational sessions and hearing processes.
