United Way launching free digital literacy classes
NASHUA – The United Way of Greater Nashua will be launching a new series of free digital literacy classes to help residents build confidence using computers and navigate the digital world safely.
Tailored for beginners, participants will learn essential computer skills such as connecting to WiFi, using a mouse and keyboard, organizing files and understanding the desktop interface. They will also learn how to identify online scams, build strong passwords and adopt safe internet habits.
Upcoming classes are as follows:
-Practical Everyday Computer Skills – Oct. 2 at 10 a.m.
-Understanding Basic Online Safety – Oct. 15 at 7 p.m.
-Understanding Basic Online Safety – Nov. 6 at 10 a.m.
-Practical Everyday Computer Skills – Nov. 19 at 7 p.m.
All classes will be held at the United Way office, 20 Broad St. Attendance is free, but registration is required. Interested individuals can register online at unitedwaynashua.org/free-digital-literacy-classes/ or contact United Way directly for assistance.
“These workshops are about breaking down barriers,” said United Way President Michael Apfelberg. “We aim to ensure everyone in our community–whether they’re new to computers or just need a refresher–can feel comfortable and safe using technology.”
