Hudson cleaner charged in jewelry theft

NASHUA – Luciane Dos Santos, 38, of Hudson, was taken into custody on May 30 for an alleged jewelry theft.
According to the Nashua Police Department, on April 14, the victim of the theft told officers that the stolen jewelry was valued at approximately $3,500. The victim also suspected that one of the cleaners had taken the jewelry as they had access to the home.
Detectives with the Criminal Investigation Division were able to locate the stolen items at a pawn shop. They also learned that Dos Santos was one of the cleaners and had sold the items to the pawn shop.
Dos Santos has been charged with receiving stolen property of more than $1,501.
Under state law, if convicted, she could face up to 15 years in prison, up to five years of probation and a fine of up to $4,000.
Dos Santos was released on personal recognizance bail and is scheduled to be arraigned in Nashua District Court on July 2.
