RIVIER NOTES: Raiders garner multiple conference awards

NASHUA – Senior forward Jessica Driscoll, first-year forward Chloe Bryda, junior goalkeeper Taylor Bruno were named the Massachusetts State College Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Player, Rookie, and Goalie of the week, respectively, the conference announced on Monday.
Bryda netted the game-winning goal in the Raiders’ 2-0 victory over New England College and posted a +1 rating, earning her a second consecutive Rookie of the Week nod.
Driscoll added the insurance marker late in the third period against NEC to seal the win, also finishing with a +1 rating. This marks her first Player of the Week honor of the season.
Bruno turned away all 30 shots to record her first clean sheet of the year, earning her first Goalie of the Week recognition this season.
Bryda, Driscoll, Bruno, and the rest of the Raiders return to action at Conway Arena for a back-to-back non-conference matchup with Potsdam on Friday at 7:40 p.m. and Saturday at 3 p.m.
WOMEN’S BASKETBALL
RICKER GNAC ROOKIE OF WEEK
Rivier women’s basketball first-year Madi Ricker was named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Rookie of the Week for the first time in her career, the conference announced Monday afternoon.
On Tuesday, Nov. 25, Ricker recorded a career-high 17 points on 46.2% shooting from the field, along with two rebounds and two assists in the lone game for the Raiders last week.
Ricker and the women’s basketball team return to the court Wednesday, Dec. 3, for a non-conference matchup with Westfield St.
