NASHUA – Following an eight-point performance this week, first-year forward Bailey Gatchell has been named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Women’s Soccer Rookie of the Week, the conference announced Monday afternoon.

Gatchell began her collegiate debut netting two of the Raiders’ four goals in their non-conference road matchup against the Huskies of the University of Southern Maine this past Friday.

The Epsom native continued to lead the offensive charge for Rivier in their non-conference matchup with Keene St. this past Saturday. Gatchell scored both goals for the Raiders, the first being a 1-1 equalizer in the 11th minute off a feed from sophomore forward Leah Morrier.

Gatchell and the rest of the Rivier women’s soccer team return to the field for their third match of the young season today as they take on Western Connecticut St. for game two of their three-game home stand. The opening kickoff is set for 6 p.m. at Joanne Merrill Field.
