RED SOX 2026: Sox will open next season at Cincinnati

BOSTON- The Boston Red Sox will open the 2026 season on Thursday, March 26, in Cincinnati against the Cincinnati Reds, as MLB announced its schedule for next season.

Boston’s Fenway Park home opener is set for Friday, April 3, against the San Diego Padres. This marks the Red Sox’ first season opener in Cincinnati and first home opener against the Padres.

The Red Sox will host the New York Yankees for seven games in 2026, including three games in April (21-23) and four in June (25-28). Boston will travel to the Bronx for three-game series in June (5-7) and August (28-30).

The Red Sox will host the Detroit Tigers for their Patriots’ Day matchup Monday, April 20, concluding a four-game series. On Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 10, Boston will wrap up a four-game home set against the Tampa Bay Rays. The club will open a three-game series at Fenway Park on Labor Day, Monday, September 7, against the Los Angeles Angels.

Eight National League teams will travel to Boston in 2026, including the San Diego Padres (April 3-5), Milwaukee Brewers (April 6-8), Philadelphia Phillies (May 12-14), Atlanta Braves (May 26-28), Washington Nationals (June 29-July 1), Arizona Diamondbacks (August 17-19), San Francisco Giants (August 21-23), and Chicago Cubs (September 25-27).

The Red Sox will play a doubleheader against the Seattle Mariners June 20 due to a scheduled FIFA World Cup match at Lumen Field June 19. The team will return to the West Coast July 3-5 to face the Los Angeles Angels and July 27-August 2 for series against the Athletics and Los Angeles Dodgers.

Boston will conclude its regular season against the Cubs September 25-27.

Game times for the 2026 regular season will be finalized and announced at a later date. All dates included in the posted schedule are subject to change.
