He did it.
Nate “Smiley” Tejeda, the Nashua High School and Springfield College alum who five years ago overcame Stage 2 Hodgkin Lymphoma a few years ago, completed his first Boston Marathon on Monday with a time of 5:26:23, running to raise funs for the Mass. General Cancer Center. The former South football and wrestling standout was running in support of cancer patient David Jurewicz, who is ironically a student at his alma mater, Springfield.
Meanwhile, Amherst’s Sam Bradbury had to the top time for all the locals, coming in two hours, 22 minutes and 23 seconds (2:22:23).
