Coffey Post continues its great start with Exeter sweep

NASHUA — The beat goes on for the Nashua James E. Coffey Post American Legion baseball team.

Nashua swept a doubleheader at Holman Stadium from Exeter Post No. 32 on Thursday, 2-0 and 6-2. Coffey is now 7-0 atop District B.

In the opener Isaac Zhang tossed six innings of three-hit, shutout ball, striking out nine while Elias Bourque needed just seven pitches to get the save. Isaiah Hedquist had two hits and an RBI while Padraig Mac Seain had a hit and an RBI.

In the nightcap, Zhang had two hits and an RBI while Luke Anderson had a hit and drove in two runs. Jake O’Connor, Hedquist and Dom Monico also collected hits.

Mac Seain got the win, allowing two earned runs on three hits over five. He walked one and struck out seven. O’Connor got the save with two innings of scoreless, hitless, four strikeout relief.

Nashua’s next District contests are Monday at Holman Stadium, vs. Dover at 5:30 and vs. Portsmouth at 8 p.m.
