The Nashua Silver Knights are liking this Home Run Derby thing, thank you.

Nashua won its second Derby of the year, as Chris Katz out-homered the New Britain Bees 3-1 to give the Knights the win Friday night in New Britain, Conn.

The game was tied at 1 after 10 innings, then it was Derby time.

It’s Nashua’s second straight win as they head to Westfield, Mass. tonight to face the Starfire with a 6-13 record. They’d love to get the same pitching performance they got last night, as starter Jonah Wachter tossed seven innings of one-run ball, allowing six hits and striking out four. He didn’t walk a batter.

The bullpen followed suit, as Cole Glassburn, Will Andrews and Brandon Hsu combined for two innings of scoreless, one-hit relief.

Both teams scored in the third inning. Nashua took a 1-0 lead in the top half of the inning. With two outs and nobody on, Jack McDermott singled and then Katz doubled. Richie Paltridge followed with an RBI single.

New Britain’s Gavin Greger doubled to lead off the inning and eventually scored on Teddy Schoenfeld’s sac fly.

Nashua is back home at Holman Stadium on Sunday at 3 p.m. vs. Pittsfield. The Silver Knights end June with eight of their last 10 games of the month at Holman.
