The Nashua Silver Knights had an early 3-1 lead against the Norwich Sea Unicorns but ended up giving up seven runs to fall 8-4 at Dodd Stadium in Norwich, Conn., dropping Nashua’s record to 4-8.
Ricky Paltridge gave Nashua a two-run single in the first, and Matt D’Mato hit a sac fly in the third to make it a 3-1 game.
But the Sea Unicorns tied it up in the third and took the lead for good with a Zac Zyons RBI single off Nashua reliever L.T. Pare in the sixth. They added a run on an error and two more on a two-run single by Hunter Yaworski to go up 7-3 and that was basically that.
Pat McConnell walked with the bases loaded after Paltridge singled to force in a run and make it 8-4 in the ninth, but it was too little, too late.
The Silver Knights will look to get back on the winning track tonight at New Britain, Conn.. They then visit Vermont for two games Saturday and Sunday before getting an off day on Monday and returning to Holman Stadium Tuesday for a game vs. New Britain.
