NASHUA — The Rivier women’s lacrosse team fell 20-5 to Saint Joseph’s College in conference action Tuesday night at Joanne Merrill Field.

The Monks exploded out of the gate with four consecutive goals all by different student-athletes. The Raiders would get one back to end the run on a Caitlin Newell (Litchfield) score.

The next 15 goals starting in the first quarter would all come from the Monks (5-0, 1-0 GNAC). Rivier (1-3, 0-2 GNAC) wouldn’t break the streak until the fourth quarter, when they would put up four goals in a row.

Sarah LaChance would contribute two of the four goals, with Newell notching her second of the game and Milford’s Ashley Wilder netting her first. SJC would close out the game with one more goal from Heather Rohr.

Rivier will be back on Joanne Merrill field this Saturday when GNAC opponent Albertus Magnus makes the trip for a 1 p.m. game.
