Raider men pick up another win, 3-1 over Franklin Pierce

WINCHENDON, Mass. The Rivier men’s hockey team picked up another win after having a big second period against Franklin Pierce Tuesday night, beating the Ravens 3-1.
After a scoreless first period, the Raiders turned it on again in the second, scoring two goals and ultimately the game winner. Milan Brezko (Klasterec, CZR) scored the first Rivier goal on a wrist shot from the right circle. Less than a minute later, Shane Murphy (Pembroke, MA) put the Raiders up 2-0 as he scored off a rebound.
The Ravens would get the last score in the second on a 2-on-1 cross from Jason Ladzinski to Ryan Gorbett for the one-time finish.
Rivier would tack on one more in the third period on an empty netter by Ryan Nolte (Canton, MA) to get the 3-1 final.
Luke Newell (Littleton, Col.) continued to have success in net for the Raiders, saving 17 of 18 shots on goal.
Rivier will be back in action on Friday, Nov. 19 when the Raiders travel to Morrisville for a two-game series. Game one is Friday the 19th at 7 p.m., with game two on Saturday, Nov. 20 at 4 p.m.
