NOV. 5, 1951 – “Former Nashua High School grid stars dominated the picture at Holman Stadium yesterday afternoon as the semi-pro Yanks continued unbeaten with a 13-0 decision over the defensive-minded Marlboro Redskins before close to 1,000 fans.

“Unable to dent the formidable Nashua defensive line, spearheaded by service-bound Normie Roy, the once-beaten visiting Redskins did their best to halt a mixture of Yanks offensive magic but failed to stop the accurate passing and hard running of Bobby Blow and Lucky Leconte.”

NOV. 6, 1961 – “Schoolboy football was at its best Saturday afternoon at Holman Stadium when powerful Everett and Nashua’s young and scrappy band of football warriors staged one of the most exciting grid contests of the decade with the Crimson Tide finally prevailing 28-14 as some 6,000 fans cheered wildly for a full 40 minutes.

“It was two sophomore backfield men – Duane Briggs and John Newman – who made life miserable for the Everetts.”

NOV. 7, 1981 – “… Amassing some pretty impressive yardage totals last night, Nashua High School rolled to an easy 25-8 win over the Dover Green Wave.

“The Nashua High Boosters Club had designated the evening ‘Tony Marandos Night’ in honor of the former Panther line coach and that was a nice gesture. But had Marandos and his successor, current NHS line coach Paul Bellavance had their way, it might have been retitled ‘Offensive Line Night.’ The Panthers ripped huge holes in the Dover defense, amassing 347 total yards (271 on the ground) en route to Nashua’s fourth win in succession at home.”

NOV. 8, 2001 – “The New Hampshire Volleyball Coaches Association will be hosting the first ever All-Star contests for outstanding seniors at the Crocker Wellness Center on the campus of New Hampshire Technical Institute in Concord.

“Area players who will participate in this inaugural event are Milford’s Tara Quigley, April Wood and Amber Anctil and Souhegan’s Ashley Dembisky for the Class I team, which will be coached by Milford’s Chuck Roberson. Megumi Umezaki from Hollis/Brookline will play for the Class M team. Merrimack’s Gary and Alice Lavimoniere will coach the Class L All-Star team, which features Bishop Guertin’s Anne Coulter, Merrimack’s Monica McDonough and Nashua’s Kelly Landry.

NOV. 9, 2006 – “Late legendary Hollis/Brookline High School track and field coach Lou Korcoulis and six others will be inducted into the New Hampshire Interscholastic Athletic Association’s Hall of Fame on Nov. 19 at the Courtyard Marriot in Concord.

“Korcoulis, a teacher and coach for 41 years, began his career at Hollis/Brookline in 1962 after graduating from Keene Teacher’s College. He started the boys and girls high school cross country and track and field programs in Hollis. With 26 state championships to his credit, Korcoulis is the only coach in New Hampshire to win titles in five decades.”

NOV. 10, 2011 – “Adam Edmunds had spent over 80 minutes watching Littleton High School goalkeeper Tom Quillin make save after save. That didn’t stop the Wilton-Lyndeborough senior from knowing he was about to score the game-winning goal.

“Edmunds got the ball at the top of the penalty box midway through overtime, used himself to shield the defender, and with his left foot, fired a surface missile across the turf. Quillin made a sprawling effort to get the shot, but the ball rolled past him into the corner of the net, giving the seventh-seeded Warriors a 2-1 win over the No. 6 Crusaders in Thursday’s Division IV boys soccer semifinal at Hanover High School.”
