MAY 29, 1961: “At Manchester yesterday, Buzz Harvey’s baseball nine came from behind in the late innings and shelled Manchester Central, 14-7, to notch its 12th win of the season.

“… Nashua had 11 hits, led by Carl Tamulevich who went 4 for 5, including a double and three singles for three RBIs. Everett Crosscup had a good day at the plate with two timely doubles to drive in three runs. Frank Ulcickas posted a double and a single to drive in three runs.”

MAY 30, 1986: “The Nashua Dodgers of the Eastern Massachusetts Baseball League captured their season opener last night, 6-2, over Hudson, Mass., at Holman Stadium.

“The Dodgers jumped out to a 1-0 advantage in the first inning as Sergio Hebra led off with a single, stole second and scored as the throw sailed into center field. An RBI triple by Bob Calamari, Tom Gallagher’s RBI single, Rick Janicki’s two-run double and Rick Johnson’s run-scoring single salted the game away.”

MAY 31, 1991: “As usual it had to scratch and claw, but Alvirne advanced to the quarterfinal round of the Class L baseball tournament with a 5-4 win over Keene yesterday.

“Joe Guerette delivered the game-winning hit in the bottom of the seventh when his sharp liner to right field scored Gary Russell. Brian Belanger allowed eight hits over 5-2/3 innings to pick up the win.”

JUNE 1, 2001: “Bishop Guertin fell short of extending its softball season on Thursday as the Cardinals fell, 4-3, to Keene.

“The Cardinals (7-13) were able to manage a comeback, but it fell short. BG went down 4-0 after three innings and were able to cut the lead down to one by the fifth inning thanks Colleen Kinneen’s two-run homerun. The Cardinals, however, were not able to score again after that.”

JUNE 2, 2006: “Hollis/Brookline broke out of a 6-6 deadlock in the third quarter against Con-Val to advance to the Division III semifinals for the first time, as the second-seeded Cavs won 13-8 at home.

“Lucas VanOss (three goals, two assists), Cam Sousa (three goals, assist), Will Spencer (three goals, two assists), and Nick Coffey (three goals, assist) were the big contributors to the Cavs’ offense. Andrew Garcia scored the other Cavaliers goal.”

JUNE 3, 2011: “The Bishop Guertin girls tennis team wrapped up its second straight 17-0 season with a 5-4 victory over Londonderry in the Class L championship match.

“… The Cardinals led 4-2 after singles, needing just one doubles victory to clinch the title. They got it from the No. 3 doubles team of senior Julia Filler and sophomore Allison Murphy. The pair accounted for three of BG’s five wins, with Filler winning 8-1 at No. 5 singles and Murphy outlasting Cassandra Cronin 8-6 in a marathon match at No. 6 singles.”

JUNE 4, 2016: “Alvirne hit a slight speed bump in the first inning on Wednesday during its first-round Division I softball tournament matchup with Pinkerton Academy. It wasn’t nearly enough to stop the Broncos from bolting into the quarterfinals.

“Sara Siteman went 4 for 4 with three doubles and two RBIs, Nicole Teague struck out 12 over seven quality innings and Alvirne raced past Pinkerton for an 11-2 victory in Hudson.”
