MAY 22, 1955 – “Showing utter disregard for existing records, the Nashua High School track team rolled up the highest total in the history of the Merrimack Valley Conference Championship, tallying 59 points to win the annual event at Lawrence yesterday. It marks the Purple’s initial triumph in the history of the meet. Lowell, the perennial champion, garnered 40 points, Lawrence 19, Haverhill 14 and Manchester Central 40.

“Sparked by Charley Parker’s three victories, the Purple athletes smashed four records and tied two others on their way to the Valley crown. Parker broke the broad jump record with a leap of 20-feet, 2-inches, and tied records in the 100 and 220.. Jackson Lacombe became a double-record smasher when he erased marks for both high and low hurdles. He ran the high in 16 seconds and raced over the 180 yard low hurdles in the new time of 21.8 seconds. The third record demolisher was Ray Brooks, who not only lead 5-feet, 10-1/2 inches for a new Valley record but also broke the Nashua High record of 5-feet, 10-inches made in 1940 by Henry McCutcheon.”

MAY 22, 1975 – “Alvirne High School upset the Bishop Guertin baseball team 7-4 yesterday. Russ Bouley went the route for Alvirne to pick up the win.

“… Alvirne finished off BG in the bottom of the fifth. Mike Bolton reached on an error, Dale Dubois singled and John Lavoie walked. Bob Andrews singled to score Bolton. Bouley and Leo Francoeur drove in two more runs with sacrifices. Mike Andrews scored on an error.”

MAY 22, 2016 – “The Milford High School girls 4×100 relay foursome of Nicole McMorrow, Amy Arena, Olivia Rougeau and Viankah Williams set New Hampshire’s outdoor track record in the event with a run of 48.94 seconds during Saturday’s Londonderry Invitational at Londonderry High School.

“The Spartans relay team beat the 48.95 mark set by Nashua High School’s Monique Martinez, Stacey Reynolds, Shelley Dumaine and Angela Johnson back in 1988.”
