HS Roundup: Storm moves past Salem; Saber wrestlers do well

Hockey and wrestling took center stage Saturday after a big basketball night on Friday.
And it was a good day for the Souhegan-Nashua girls hockey team, the Bishop Guertin boys skaters, plus a lot of local wrestlers. Here’s a look:
GIRLS HOCKEY
SOUHEGAN-NASHUA 4, SALEM 2
Briley Landsteiner scored two goas while Sophia Wine had a goal and an assist as the Storm improved to 3-9-1.
Lily Helfand added two assists while Amelia Warecki had a goal.
Charlotte Dezotell had 28 saves for the Storm, who head to Oyster River-Portsmouth on Wednesday.
EXETER 6, BISHOP GUERTIN 3
At Skate 3, the Cards dropped their fifth straight to fall at 2-9
Carly Green had two goals and an assist while Grace Spangler had a goal.
BG heads to Hanover on Wednesday.
BOYS HOCKEY
BISHOP GUERTIN 5, BOW 1
Goalie Nico Scaparotti checked the Falcons on one goal while Jack Stone had a pair of goals as the Cards moved to 6-3.
Dom Trepanier and Cam Auger each had a goal and an assist, while Luca Ferrari had three assists and Jordan O’Hearn two. Owen Murphy also had an assist.
Guertin hosts Concord in the second rematch of last year’s classic Division I final on Wednesday at Skate 3 at 5:50 p.m. Bow fell to 2-10-1.
WRESTLING
SOUHEGAN SEVENTH AT CAPITAL CITY CLASSIC
Souhegan was the top local at Concord’s Capital City Classic, finishing seventh with 114.5 points. Bishop Hendricken of Rhode Island was first at 211 with host Concord second at 191.5.
The Sabers were the only top 10 local. Hollis Brookline was 11th.
Souhegan’s Jack Kaler captured the title at 132 pounds. Saber Landon Carson, who recently got his 100th career win, was third at 138 while Chase Knuckles took third at 144. Finally for the Sabers, Gabe Holt was third at 215.
Alvirne’s Mason Verrochio took second at 106 while fellow Bronco Quintin Tetreault was sixth at 190.
Nashua North’s Sebastian Ochoa was fourth at 126. South’s Benny Byrne captured second at 157.
Merrimack got a fourth from Cash Torres at 157.
