HS Roundup: Guertin skaters back on track, Souhegan wrestlers shine

One thing is for sure the Nashua Knights will give you a battle on the ice. They did that in a loss to Salem while Bishop Guertin and Merrimack-Hollis Brookline-Derryfield boys hockey teams got much-needed wins.
We’ve got that plus some wrestling:
BOYS HOCKEY
SALEM 5, NASHUA NORTH-SOUTH 2
The Knights (1-7) spotted Salem a 3-0 lead at Conway Arena and couldn’t recover, despite pulling to within 3-2 at the start of the third period.
Brendan Doughty had a goal and an assist while David Ramalho had their other goal, and Adam Roberge had an assist.
Nashua hosts Bow on Saturday.
BISHOP GUERTIN 5, KEENE 2
The Cards got a four-point night by Jordan O’Hearn (hat trick, assist) plus goals from Dom Trepanier and Cam Vaillancourt (plus an assist) to improve to 4-3.
Gavin Santos added two assists.
BG visits the Manchester Kings next Wednesday at JFK Coliseum.
MHBDS 10, LEBANON-STEVENS-MASCOMA 0
The WarHawks took out two tough losses to local rivals Alvirne-Miford and Nashua out on LSM to move to 4-5-1.
Alex May had a hat trick and an assist while Bryson Smith had two goals and two assists, Felix Rattunde and Will Farrell each a goal and an assist. Other goals were by Evan Bertrand, Ben Hazard, and Colin Hamlin.
Other assists went to Hamlin (two), Tyler Allen, Zac Hallas and Hazard.
Liam Gagne started in goal as the ‘Hawks had 14 saves.
The WarHawks are at Timberlane-Pelham on Saturday.
GIRLS HOCKEY
SOUHEGAN-NASHUA 3, SALEM 3
The Storm got a tie on the road at the Salem Icenter to snap a five-game losing streak and stand at 2-7-2. The Storm next takes the ice at Bedford on Saturday.
3-3. S-N got two goals by Briley Landsteiner and one goal by Sophia Wine.
BEDFORD 8, BISHOP GUERTIN 5
The Cards fell to 2-7 with a loss on the road. Carly Green had three goals and one assist while Grace Spengler and Ava Brennan each with a goal.
BG hosts Keene-Monadnock-Fall Mountain next Tuesday at Skate 3.
WRESTLING
SOUHEGAN 61, BISHOP GUERTIN 18
The Sabers dominated with wins by Jack Kaler (16-3 major decision) at 132, Landon Carson (10-6) at 138, Alex Sarfde at 150 (pin), Marcus Stout at 157 (pin), Patrick Casey at 165 (pin) plus six forfeits.
BG got wins by Wesley Steinruck at 106 (pin) and Jack Foster at 175 (pin).
NASHUA NORTH 42, MANCHESTER MEMORIAL 39
The Titans got pins by Sebastian Ochoa at 126, Caleb Paquin at 132, Kayden Vallerand-Kenneally at 150, Jace Gallego at 157, and Mason Bracetty at 285.
