The Bishop Guertin High School girls volleyball team is one win away from returning to the Division I semifinals.

The No. 3 Cards breezed for the most part past No. 14 Goffstown, 3-0, but it wasn’t without some nostalgic feelings on the part of Cards coach Matt Erb.

Erb coached the JV team at Goffstown in 2021 and 2022. “It was a little bittersweet seeing some of the kids I had be eliminated,” he said. “But BG is motivated and ready for the quarterfinals.”

While the Cards picked up a win, as did the No. 3 Campbell girls soccer team, the season ended in Division IV boys soccer for Wilton Lyndeborough.

All that and today’s schedule await:

GIRLS VOLLEYBALL

NO. 3 BISHOP GUERTIN 3, NO. 14 GOFFSTOWN 0

BG (16-3) enjoyed a 25-16, 25-17, 25-23 sweep led by strong performances from Alissa Maillet, Thalie Drapeau, Caitlin Harrington and Claudia Daniel.

Now only No. 6 Dover (14-5) stands between BG and second straight trip to the semis. The Green Wave edged BG 3-2 just over a week ago at the Colligadome. Match time Thursday is 6 p.m.

Goffstown finished up at 5-14.

GIRLS SOCCER

NO. 3 CAMPBELL 4, NO. 14 WHITE MOUNTAINS 1

The 15-1 Cougars’ roll continues, as they will now host No. 6 Gilford on Friday, likely 3 p.m. in the quarterfinals. Gilford (12-4-1) beat Bishop Brady 5-0 yesterday but lost to Campbell 2-1 back on Oct. 4.

BOYS SOCCER

DIVISION IV PRELIMS

NO. 9 CONCORD CHRISTIAN 6, NO. 8 WILTON-LYNDEBOROUGH 1

It was a disappointing day for the homestanding Warriors, who lost for the second time in two weeks at the hands of the Kingsmen.

WLC ends an otherwise successful season at 10-7. Concord Christian (11-6) heads to face No. 1 Moultonborough in Friday’s quarterfinals.

TODAY’S SCHEDULE

In boys soccer, No. 3 Bishop Guertin (12-2-2) will host No. 14 Pinkerton (4-9-3) at 4 p.m. at Stellos. Meanwhile No. 13 Nashua North (4-9-3) is at No. 4 Windham (11-2-3) at 3 p.m. No. 5 Merrimack (10-2-4) will host No. 12 Salem (6-7-3) at 3 p.m.

In girls soccer, Souhegan (5-7-4) grabbed the 11th and final spot in the Division II tourney and its prelim will be at No. 6 Coe-Brown (5-7-4), whom the Sabers beat 1-0 back on Sept. 2.
