NHIAA X-C Division Meets: No team titles, but BG’s Fischer takes first

There were no local team champions in the NHIAA Cross Country Division Championship Meets on Saturday, but that didn’t stop Bishop Guertin’s Ethan Fischer from getting his taste of glory at Manchester’s Derryfield Park.
The sophomore Fischer was the top individual boys runner in Division I, coming in with a time of 16:01.76, well ahead of Keene’s Sullivan Sturtz (16:14.58).
As for teams, Pinkerton cruised to the boys title with 37 points while locally Nashua North (164), South (173) and 2024 champion Bishop Guertin (179) finished 4, 5 and 6 respectively. In the girls, the top local team was Bishop Guertin, finishing fourth (152) led by fifth place finisher Zoe Coler (20:07.67). while Pinkerton completed the sweep in first (55).
In Division II boys, Souhegan finshed fourth (114) and Hollis Brookline fifth (152) as Hanover took the title (37). In Division II girls, HB was tops locally in fourth (125) ahead of fifth place Souhegan (177) with the champion being Hanover for the sweep (25). Saber Samantha Swanbon was the top local in seventh (20:07.00).

DIVISION I BOYS
The Titans were led by Cole Burns, who was the next local after Fischer, coming in at 18th in 17.28.83. He led a run of four straight locals, with Matthew Motherway leading Nashua South in 17:29.09 in 19th, then North’s Tom White (20, 17:33.80) and BG’s William Moores (21, 17:34.65).
South had Isaiah Rodriguez (24, 17:41.96) and Evan Jean (27, 17:49.88) while North’s other top runners were Owen Gagnon (28, 17:55.17), Nate D’Silva (36, 18:09.13), and Bunhour Chea (62, 18:42.98). South added Prana Dasari (48, 18:30.94), Sriam Varga (55, 18:37.19) and Lincoln O’Brien (58 18:39.26). The Cards next top runners were Braden Phemester (32, 18:03.74) and Samuel Prescott (18:09.75).
Merrimack finished 12th overall and Alvirne 13th. The Tomahawks were paced by Cooper Lanteigne (34, 18:07.92) and Brayden Miller (47, 18:29.72). The Broncos were led consecutive finishes by Roarke Brandt (60, 18:41.84) and Ashton Rowe (61, 18:41.86).
DIVISION I GIRLS
Alvirne was the next highest local team in 10th (292), just ahead of Nashua North (11, 300). Merrimack (14, 355) and Nashua South (15, 416) rounded out the locals.
North’s Rosalie Neveu was the second best local, coming in 10th in 20:40.06.
The Cards other top finishers included consecutive places by Lyla Masson (24, 21:19.80) and Anna Sinclair (25, 21:20.36). Annabelle Mason (46, 22:45.55) was next, and Shannon Forsyth rounded out their scoring (42, 23:03.83).
Alvirne was led by Olivia Cartagena in 18th (21:09.29) and Makenna Simpson (26, 21:16.21). North’s other top runners were Alaina Small (44, 22:38.69) and Claire Hathaway-Rube (62, 23:21.38). South had Ariana Marengo (34, 22:11.72) and Pearl Nelson (89, 24:56.76). Merrimack had Zosia Yellin (53, 23:03.89) and Ella Taylor (55, 23:07.75) leading the way.
DIVISION II BOYS
Besides Souhegan and HB, Milford was 10th with 325 points. The top local was HB’s William Scott (11, 17:22.35).
Souhegan had four runners in a stretch of six places from 17-22: Ryan Quinn, 17, 17:45.56; Jacob Spencer, 18, 17:45.69; Drew Rigaut, 21, 17:53.53 and Thomas Arnoldy, 22, 17:54.93. Aaron Coleman rounded out the Saber scoring (36, 18:33.51).
HB did pretty much the same thing from 32-35 with Jacob Hoesch (32, 18:23.30), Arjun Inakollu (34, 18:24. 81) and Thomas Howie (35, 18:33.19). Orion Talbot rounded it out not too far away (40, 18:37.48).
The Spartans were led by Joshua Coates (46, 18:53.34) and Colin Kirby (52, 19:07.79). Grant Skorupan (63, 19:55.17) also contributed.
DIVISION II GIRLS
Pacing the Cavs was Mae Butler (14 21:09.25) while Hannah LaPointe (18, 21:23.98), Quinn Hardy (24, 22:10.13), Sarah Bauer (33, 23:00.90) and Alina Szczeszynski (36, 23:37.25) rounded out their scoring.
After Swanbon, Souhegan was paced by Brinn Siska (12, 20:48.28), Dylan Walker (50, 24.35), Grace Kennedy (53, 24:54.62) and Jesica Bowers (55, 24:59.37).
DIVISION III BOYS-GIRLS
The Campbell boys were 23rd (566) while the girls finished 11th (246). Hopkinton was first in the girls (60) while Monadnock won the boys (63).
The top Cougar boy was Joshua Gaudet (66, 20:34.29) while the girls were paced by Calleigh Duncan (29, 22:41.63) and Brianna Flanagan (32, 22:58.04).
