HS ROUNDUP: Wild day with big wins for North boys, South girls soccer and North volleyball

It was a wild day and night of high school soccer on Thursday.
First, the Nashua South boys suffered their first loss of the season at Manchester Memorial. The Nashua South girls kept their tourney hopes alive by scoring more goals Thursday (7) than they had the previous 15 games total (6).
The Nashua North boys scored eight and likely squeezed into one of the final two tourney spots, finishing with two straight wins. Bishop Guertin had an uncharacteristic bad day at Goffstown, while the Hollis Brookline girls finished 15-0-1 and their unbeaten program streak is now 54 games since their last loss.
And, there was an emotional win over five-time defending champ Bedford for the Nashua North girls volleyball team, which finishes the regular season at 14-4.
The Division I girls prelims are Tuesday and it’s possible all three city teams could be in action. The Division I boys prelims are Wednesday. Division II boys are Tuesday and girls on Wednesday. The Division I girls volleyball prelims are Tuesday.

BOYS SOCCER
MANCHESTER MEMORIAL 4, NASHUA SOUTH 2
The Panthers suffered their first loss of the season, despite goals from Kevin Araujo and Vitor Pegas.
That ended a streak of 14 straight wins. However, they still finish 14-1-1 and unofficially appear to hold on to the No. 1 seed and first round bye.
NASHUA NORTH 8, TIMBERLANE 0
The Titans, with their second straight win, actually could make it in one of the final two spots. Caleb Gelineau and Mason Dandeneau each had two goals, while single tallies were by Amani Santos, Sam Nardone, Moises Valeriano, and Julian Gutierrez. North winds up the regular season 4-9-3, but that win likely gets them in, but that’s unofficial.
GOFFSTOWN 6, BISHOP GUERTIN 1
The Cards wrap up their best regular season in several years at 12-2-2, and will host a tourney game on Wednesday.
Jake Crane had their lone goal, assisted by Luis Haas. Beau Boughter and James Algeo combined for nine saves.
HOLLIS BROOKLINE 1, CONVAL 0
The Cavs made a first-half goal by Mark Smith hold up thanks to the goaltending of Ian Sinclair and the back line work of Josh Barich, Nate Constantine, Graham Keller and Logan Gormley.
HB ends the regular season 8-5-3 and will likely host a Division II prelim on Tuesday.
CAMPBELL 3, PELHAM 1
Brady Marcotte had two goals, one on a penalty kick, and one assisted by Caiden Lavoie who also drew the call for that PK. The Cougars’ other goal was by Tyler Gentile, assisted by Brady Marcotte. The Cougars finish the Division II season at 13-2-1 and will get a bye to the quarterfinals next Friday.
GIRLS SOCCER
NASHUA SOUTH 7, MANCHESTER MEMORIAL 0
The Panthers got their second win of the season with Reese Doolan getting a hat trick and the other goals by Olivia Hudson, Julia Stutz, Oriana Lemos and Olivia Mangahas. All of that keeps their tourney hopes alive as they finish the regular seasn 2-8-6. Those six ties may prove very valuable.
HOLLIS BROOKLINE 5, CONVAL 0
The Cavs celebrated their Senior Night to finish 15-0-1 with goals by Marleigh Kreick, Rosalie DeSantis, Kai Swart, Olivia Langfield and Grace Dow.
Kreick and Ward had assists. Seniors who were honored are Cassidy Engle, Molly Reardon, Dow, DeSantis, Ava Barry, Anna Fezzie, Donagha Lussier, and DeSantis.
WINDHAM 2, ALVIRNE 1
The Broncos wrapped up the season at 2-12-2 with a goal by Lia Brown, assisted by Sam DaSilva. Abbie Kowalksi had 16 saves in the loss. Still, the season was progress as the Broncos were coming off a winless 2024.
GIRLS VOLLEYBALL
NASHUA NORTH 3, BEDFORD 2
The Titans recovered from a 25-8 loss in the opening set and 25-19 in the second and won the next three, including the deciding set in equally deciding fashion, 15-6. They took set Nos. 3 and 4 by 25-19 and 25-20 counts.
It was an emotional win for the Titans, who dedicated the win to head coach Cassdandra Desfosses’ stepfather, former longtime Nashua South football assistant Colin Scoggins, who has been ill. Scoggins watched on the livestream and the Titans waved to him in front of the camera after the match.
