It’s been a great season for the Bishop Guertin High School girls volleyball team and that continued on Wednesday night with their 14th win of the season in Rochester.

It hasn’t been all that great of a season for the Nashua South Panthers volleyball team, but on Wednesday night they won even though they lost.

Why? At the Belanger Gym vs. Pinkerton, it was South’s Dig Pink Night, and the Panthers and Astros raised $1,200 for Breast Cancer Research.

“It was really cool,” South coach Tom Langer said, “to see both teams support the cause.”

Here’s the Wednesday rundown:

GIRLS VOLLEYBALL

BISHOP GUERTIN 3, SPAULDING 0

The Cards enjoyed a 25-14, 25-13, 25-16 road sweep of the Red Raiders, improving to 14-3.

Caitlin Harrington, Alissa Maillet and Claudia Daniel all had strong performances.

BG will wrap up the regular season Friday vs.Alvirne at the Colligadome.

PINKERTON 3, NASHUA SOUTH 0

The Panthers had their moments but couldn’t quite hang with the top seeded Astros, falling 25-13, 29-27, 25-16.

Joelle Primo had four kills in five attempts, while Riley Britton (six kills, five digs) and Bailey Landsteiner (10 digs, four aces).

Now 3-14, South closes out the season Friday at Windham.

TIMBERLANE 3, HOLLIS BROOKLINE 1

The Cavs lost the final two sets 25-22 25-14 after splitting the first two, 22-25, 25-23 to fall to 5-12. Max Walsh was honored for her 500th career assist. HB ends its regular season Friday at Londonderry.

GIRLS SOCCER

NASHUA NORTH 3, TIMBERLANE 1

The Titans wrapped up perhaps their best regular season ever at 12-4, as Alli Frye had two goals and an assist and Sarah Frye added a goal and an assist. They snapped a three-game losing streak and recovered from a tough 6-1 loss to Winnacunnet on Tuesday.

Now they’ll await the pairings early in the week and likely play a first-round game at Stellos Stadium on Tuesday.

BISHOP GUERTIN 1, GOFFSTOWN 1

The Cards closed out the regular season at 13-1-2 on a goal by Kelsey Ackerman, assisted by Emerson Brown.

Olivia Baker played well in goal with eight saves. Charlotte Accomando and Jocelyn Santosuosso played strong for the Cards in the offensive end.

Goffstown finished up 12-2-2. The teams will await the pairings early next week; the tie likely strengthens the possibility the Cards will have to play a first round tourney game on Tuesday.
