HS Roundup: Merrimack football stays hot; Souhegan field hockey tops HB
Who is the hottest football team in the area? How about the Tomahawks of Merrimack High School?
The Tomahawks won their fourth straight game at Dover on Friday night. In another big game, title contenders Souhegan and Hollis Brookline wrapped up the regular field hockey season with the Sabers coming out on top.

FOOTBALL
MERRIMACK 28, DOVER 19
The Tomahawks improved to 4-2 in Division I as Shea Scott had two rushing TDs and QB Maverick Torres rushed for a score and threw a TD pass to Zach Retey. Retey also scored on a pair of 2-point conversions.
Merrimack, after three straight road wins, will finally be home next Friday, hosting local rival Nashua South.
FIELD HOCKEY
SOUHEGAN 1, HOLLIS BROOKLINE 0
Ori Dart scores on an assist from Ella Russell to get the Sabers over the Cavs. Olivia Harrison made one save with Bella Preston, Abby Mayo, Mariela Dart and Avery Wyborney controlled the defense. Maddie Barich made five saves for HB. Souhegan finishes the season 14-1-1 and HB sits at 12-3-1.
BOYS SOCCER
HOLLIS BROOKLINE 2, PELHAM 1
The Cavs (6-5-3) sneak by the Pythons Friday afternoon. Andrew Desmairas and John Constantine scored one goal apiece. James Arthur assisted on both goals and Ian Sinclair made six saves. Logan Gormley and Oliver Bettencourt held down the back line. HB hosts Laconia on Tuesday.
CAMPBELL 4, PLYMOUTH 0
Brady Marcotte recorded a hat trick in the Cougars (11-2-1) shutout win. Tyler Gentile added the other goal with assists coming from Marcotte, Caiden Lavoie, Ethan Bellino and Matthew DeCarli. Adam Correau stood tall in net. Campbell hosts ConVal on Tuesday.
GIRLS SOCCER
HOLLIS BROOKLINE 5, PELHAM 0
The Cavs grab their third straight shutout win and improve to 13-0-1. Leading the offense were Rosalie DeSantis (goal), Marleigh Kreick (goal, three assists), CC Dufoe (goal), Livie Ward (goal), Molly Reardon (assist) and Olivia Langfield (goal).
Maddy Leonard (save) and Mya Blackman (two saves) shared time in net. HB visits Laconia on Tuesday.
MILFORD 1, PEMBROKE 0
Shea Hansen was the only player to put the ball in the net and give the Spartans (7-4-3) the win. Trinity Milner made four saves in net.
Milford visits Souhegan on Tuesday.
GIRLS VOLLEYBALL
NASHUA NORTH 3, DOVER 2
The Titans (11-4) win the battle against the Green Wave 26-24, 25-22, 16-25, 12-25, 15-13. Standouts for North were Hayley Maurhoff, Amaya Gordon, Kylie Rizzo, Mariana Cajigas, Ruby Zeman, Logan Sartor, Patricia So, Amelia Hebert, Mia Barbosa, Gianna Rooney, Laura Ducharme, Gizele, Ducharme and Ava Durden. North hosts Spaulding on Monday.
BISHOP GUERTIN 3, KEENE 0
The Cardinals improve to 13-2 after sweeping the Black Birds 25-12, 25-10, 25-20. Caitlin Harrington had a team high in kills and aces.
BG hosts Dover on Monday.
HOLLIS BROOKLINE 3, NASHUA SOUTH 0
The Cavs (5-10) sweep the Panthers (3-12) by the scores of 25-18, 25-17, 27-25. South had good play from Riley Britton (seven kills), Joelle Primo (six kills) and Emery Smith (10 assists, six digs).
HB visits Portsmouth and South visits Timberlane on Monday.
TIMBERLANE 3, MERRIMACK 2
The Tomahawks (3-15) wrapped up their season as they fell to the Owls 25-22, 25-19, 16-25, 16-25, 16-18.
Lexi Viti had six digs, Emily Fagan collected 18 digs, Bella Stiles tossed 32 assists and Leah Monroe tallied 14 kills.
