HS Roundup: BG girls soccer blanks Salem, South girls fall

It was a light day Saturday on the local high school schedule, but after North’s big win in girls soccer over Bedford there were a coupld of other games played.

Here’s a look at the day:

GIRLS SOCCER

BISHOP GUERTIN 4, SALEM 0

The Cards got two goals by Kelsey Ackerman while Zoe Horton-Sousa and Phoebe Barbini had single goals.

Emerson Brown had three assists while HadleyComeau had one assist. Sophia Hickey and Hadley Comeau played well defensively.

GOFFSTOWN 5, NASHUA SOUTH 0

The Panthers (1-6-5) have now gone winless in their last seven games and scoreless in their last four after falling to the Grizzlies at Stellos Stadium.

South next takes on local rival Bishop Guertin on Tuesday at 6 p.m. at Stellos.

FIELD HOCKEY

DOVER 2, BISHOP GUERTIN 1

Addison Daddona had the visiting Cards’ lone goal, assisted by Carly Green.

Guertin falls to 7-7 with its third straight loss. The Cards look to get back on track vs. Pinkerton Monday at 10 a.m.at Stellos.

BOYS & GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY

BG BOYS SIXTH AT HOPKINTON

The Cards, led by Ethan Fischer’s second place (15:18.1) took sixth in the Hopkinton Cross Country Festival with 199 points. The event was won by Coe-Brown (62) with Londondery second (81).

Also for BG, William Moores was 20th (16:46.8) while Brad Phemester was 34th 17:16.0). William Coler (63) and Juwan Acevedo (87) also scored for BG in the 24-team event.
