All good things must come to an end. One good thing did for the Hollis Brookline girls soccer team on Thursday, but another one is still going.

Let’s explain: The Cavaliers went into Thursday’s rain-soaked game with Lebanon in Hollis riding a 44-game winning streak dating back to the start of the 2023 season. They hadn’t lost or tied a game since falling to Pelham in the 2022 Division II semis, two straight 19-0 seasons and a 6-0 start to this season.

Thusday they ended up playing a 0-0 tie with Lebanon, so the win streak comes to an end but the unbeaten streak lives on at 45 games.

“Credit Lebanon for a strong effort,” HB coach Peter Clarke said. “We’ll try to respond and move on.”

Most games on grass fields were wiped out yesterday, but two others were played besides HB. Here’s a look at a brief schedule:

GIRLS SOCCER

HOLLIS BROOKLINE 0, LEBANON 0

The Cavaliers did everything they could, firing 37 shots in the direction of the Lebanon net but none found the twine.

On the flip side, Cavs goalie Maddy Leonard only had to make two saves.

Livi Ward, Molly Reardon and Cassidy Engle had strong games for 6-0-1HB, which faces a strong (4-1-2) Souhegan team today in Hollis.

BISHOP GUERTIN 3, WINDHAM 0

The Cards improved to 8-0-1 with goals by Emerson Brown, Kelsey Ackerman, and Stella Paisner.

Ackerman and Brown also had assists. The back line of Hadley Comeau Maddi Long Sophia Hickley and Paige Gabriel were outstanding in front of keepers Olivia Baker and Hailey McGowan in the shutout at Stellos Stadium.

The Cards host Pinkerton in a clash of contenders on Tuesday at 4 p.m. at Stellos.

BOYS SOCCER

KEENE 5, NASHUA NORTH 0

It was the second tough game for the visiting Titans, who fell to 2-6-1 despite keeper Justin Ayotte trying to hold the fort.

North is off until next Thursday when it hosts Goffstown at Stellos. Keene is now 5-3-1.
